IObit Malware Fighter Pro 11.3.0.1346

Are you a Windows PC user and are you finding IObit Malware Fighter Pro for your Windows PC? I think you’re in the right place!

If malware attacks your computer or data, your antivirus wants to fight hard! As the name alone suggests, IObit Malware Fighter Pro sounds like a solid antivirus that will kill and quarantine any threat. It’s certainly trying, and it’s improved quite a bit since our last review, but it’s not a champion, even if it doesn’t have independent lab results and a zero score in anti-phishing tests.

Overview of IObit Malware Fighter Pro

IObit Malware Fighter Pro achieved average detection results in our tests, but it’s too small to give a clear picture of antivirus accuracy, so we usually check how the product is tested by large testing labs. Unfortunately, none of the IObits are covered, so this is not possible.

We know that Malware Fighter Pro has an excellent Bitdefender engine, which is a definite advantage. But it’s not as well implemented as the original and doesn’t have the same level of real-time protection, so it’s unlikely to be as effective at blocking malware as Bitdefender’s own product.

Malware Fighter doesn’t have lab results, so I’m relying entirely on my own hands-on testing. I don’t have a staff of lab-based researchers, but I test every antivirus against real malware and analyze its successes and failures.

When I open the folder where I collected the malware samples, my anti-malware test starts. As with many anti-virus tools, when Windows Explorer displayed a list of files, the minimum access was enough to detect the malware on Malware Fighter’s access. At this stage, 81% of samples were detected, and multiple detections were collected in a single statement reporting the number of detections. In both cases, the threat is removed and abandoned, but access is denied or whitelisted. I have always chosen to eliminate the danger.

Features of IObit Malware Fighter Pro

Improved, but You Can Do Better

IObit Malware Fighter Pro has a great-looking user interface, fast malware scanning, and a ransomware protection system that does what it promises. However, this did not stop the ransomware from harming some files during testing, its capabilities were not verified in any laboratory, and the browser’s security system failed phishing tests. It’s improved since our last review, but you can do better.

Ransomware Protection

Like Panda Dome Advanced, Trend Micro, and others, Malware Fighter has a ransomware protection component that prevents unauthorized access to your documents, photos, and other files.

You can view and edit the details of this protection by clicking Settings under Ransomware Protection on the home page. Malware Fighter protects my documents, my photos, my videos, my contacts, and my favorites. There is no option to extend protection to other folders; What you can do is remove the 5th base defense (but don’t do it). Likewise, you cannot add to the list of file types and protected extensions below. The only change you can make is to remove the existing protection.

Scan, Fast and Scheduled

When installing an antivirus program, the system may already be infected, so a full scan is required at the beginning. After that, real-time protection should avoid any new problems. Malware Fighter strongly supports initial scanning. The status indicator on the home page won’t turn green until you run what’s called a smart scan. Real-time protection intelligently schedules weekly scans in case something is missing. You can choose a weekly scan day and time, change it to a daily scan, or schedule a full scan instead.
